Bizenware Goma teapot

¥23,100

A Bizen-yaki Goma teapot for Chinese tea and Taiwanese tea.

Goma is a traditional Bizen ware technique with distinctive brown and green patterns. It is called Goma because the ash floating in the wood-fired kiln falls on the teapot, giving the appearance of white sesame seeds in the green areas covered with ash.

Ceramics are characterized by a warm earthy texture that gives the impression that they are a product of nature. The reddish-brown areas of Bizen soil are bright and have the strength of the earth.

On the other hand, the brown and green areas with ash give them the feel of dead trees or moss. This teapot embodies the Japanese style of wabi-sabi, while also letting you feel the brightness of the Bizen soil, creating a wonderful contrast between yin and yang.
