This is a Japanese tea gift set that includes green tea (pan-fried tea), black tea, and roasted tea. This set you can compare two types of green tea and two types of black tea, as well as enjoy roasted tea. All teas are organic.

In recent years, the Japanese tea industry has become more active in producing not only green tea, but also black tea. Our shop will prepare a gift box that combines tea from Kaiseichaen and Tsushima Oishi Farm, which are famous tea farmers who produce tea with a rich aroma.

This green tea is made by roasting in a kettle, just like Chinese Longjing tea. Most Japanese green tea is made by steaming the tea leaves, but in Japan, tea made by roasting in a kettle is called kettle-fried tea.

Chinese Longjing tea has a good aroma, while Japanese kettle-fried tea has a good tea flavor. If you compare Longjing tea and kettle-fried tea, you can clearly see the characteristics of each. Kamairi tea has less astringency and bitterness than typical Japanese green tea.

Takachiho kettle-fried tea has the taste of traditional kettle-fried tea. The tea has a strong flavor and a refreshing green tea aroma. On the other hand, Tsushima's Sago tea is more unique. Along with the flavor of the tea, you can also smell the sea. Even though they are the same kettle-fried tea, they have different characteristics, so it's fun to compare them.

Hojicha is a roasted green tea. Roasting brings out the sweetness of the tea leaves and gives them a roasted aroma.

In the past, black tea production in Japan was not very popular. Sometimes black tea was produced from varieties suitable for green tea. However, recently, research has been active, mainly among young tea farmers, and black tea with a good aroma is being produced.

Until now, Japanese tea was green tea. However, there is now delicious black tea in Japan. Japanese black tea is gaining recognition overseas, such as winning top prizes in the British tea contest "LEAFIES". Please try it and see how it differs from black tea from China and India.

(Takachiho Kamairicha)

Takachiho Kamairicha is a tea that has a fragrant and delicious taste. It has little bitterness or astringency, and is characterized by a refreshing aroma and tea flavor. The taste is very well balanced, and it is the classic taste of Kamairicha.

(Sagocha)

Kamairicha is characterized by its fragrant taste and clear golden color. Sagocha is a tea with the aroma of kamairi and the scent of the sea.

Tsushima is surrounded by the sea, and perhaps because the minerals carried by the sea breeze are deposited in the soil, you can feel the minerals of the sea. The more tea leaves you use, the stronger the scent of the sea. This is a very impressive and rare tea that gives you a sense of the island of Tsushima.

(Hand-picked Tsushima black tea)

Black tea with a floral scent like roses and orchids. The gorgeous aroma lingers for a long time. This luxurious tea is hand-picked from the core of the tea leaves, with only the most delicious parts being picked.

The tea leaves are not cut into small pieces, but are carefully processed as leaves. If the leaves are left in their original state, they are less likely to have astringent or bitter taste, and the rich aroma of the black tea can be fully extracted.

(Roasted black tea)

It has a scent like roses, orchids, and honey. It is the natural gorgeousness of the tea leaves. By roasting the tea leaves, the taste is mellow and there is a slight sweetness. It is a black tea with a refined and elegant taste, close to the Chinese Keemun black tea.

(Takachiho Hojicha)

This is Hojicha made by slowly roasting kettle-fried tea. It is a fragrant, sweet tea. It has a low caffeine content. The degree of roasting is just right, giving it a rounded flavor and bringing out the sweetness of the tea leaves.

The gift box will be shipped wrapped (see the 8th image). If you are bringing or shipping overseas, we will double-pack it in air packing, so please let us know when ordering.

FAQ

Which type of of tea can I brew with the teapot?

It can be used for any type of tea. However, unglazed pottery is more likely to absorb the flavor of the tea leaves. By using different tea utensils for each type of tea, you can enjoy the flavor of the tea to the fullest.

For example, in the case of Japanese tea, sencha, fukamushicha, genmaicha, and gyokuro are all in the same family, but since hojicha has a strong roasted aroma, we recommend using a different tea utensil.

However, glazed pottery or porcelain tea utensils do not absorb the flavor of the tea leaves, so they are suitable for brewing various types of tea.

How do you wash a teapot?

Please wash the teapot with water, without using detergent. Ceramic teapots easily absorb detergent ingredients, which can affect the flavor of the tea.

Tea leaves remaining in the teapot are the main cause of tea stains. After brewing tea, we recommend removing the tea leaves once they have cooled and rinsing them with water.

Moisture remaining in the teapot can cause mold. Turning the teapot upside down will help it dry faster.

We do not recommend washing it in the dishwasher. Please wash by hand.

Can I remove tea stains from a teapot?

Here's how to remove tea stains.

1. In a bowl or pot, mix 24g of baking soda with 1 liter of water at 30-40°C.

*Do not use aluminum or Teflon-coated pots as they will react with baking soda.

2. Leave the teapot in the water mentioned in step 1 for 30-60 minutes.

3. Wipe off the tea stains with a soft sponge or cotton swab. Do not use hard sponges or brushes.

4. Rinse the teapot with water.

5. Thoroughly dry the teapot.

*Baking soda water may irritate your hands, so wear rubber gloves.
