This is a Japanese black tea gift set to compare three types of black tea. All of the teas are organic.

The tea variety is "Benifuki", a typical variety of Japanese black tea. Even though all three types are the same Benifuki, the taste and aroma differ depending on the cultivation environment and tea-making method.

In the Japanese tea industry, black tea production has also become popular. Our shop prepare gift boxes of tea from Tsushima Oishi Farm and Kai Tea Farm, which are well-known as tea farmers who produce tea with a rich aroma.

In the past, black tea production in Japan was not very popular. Black tea was sometimes produced using varieties suitable for green tea. However, recently, research has been active, mainly among young tea farmers, and black tea with a good aroma is being produced.

Until now, Japanese tea was green tea. However, there is good black tea in Japan today. Japanese black tea is gaining recognition overseas, such as being selected as a top winner in the British black tea contest "LEAFIES". Please try it and see how it differs from black tea from China and India.

(Hand-picked Tsushima black tea)

Black tea with a floral scent like roses and orchids. The gorgeous aroma lingers for a long time. This luxurious tea is hand-picked from the core of the tea leaves, with only the most delicious parts being picked.

The tea leaves are not cut into small pieces, but are carefully processed as leaves. If the leaves are left in their original shape, they are less likely to have astringent or bitter taste, and the rich aroma of black tea can be fully extracted.

(Roasted black tea)

Smells like roses, orchids, and honey. This is the natural gorgeousness of the tea leaves. The roasting of the tea leaves gives it a mellow taste with a subtle sweetness. It is a refined and elegant black tea, close to the Chinese Keemun black tea.

(Takachiho Black Tea)

A classic black tea with a gorgeous aroma. The muscatel flavor unique to black tea is gorgeous and the aroma is rich. The tea leaves themselves have a floral or fruity scent. This is a black tea that you can enjoy the aroma of, rather than a full-bodied type.

The "Benifuki" tea variety is a variety for black tea and oolong tea. It fully brings out the potential of the tea leaves. The taste is reminiscent of Darjeeling black tea from India, the home of black tea.

FAQ

Which type of of tea can I brew with the teapot?

It can be used for any type of tea. However, unglazed pottery is more likely to absorb the flavor of the tea leaves. By using different tea utensils for each type of tea, you can enjoy the flavor of the tea to the fullest.

For example, in the case of Japanese tea, sencha, fukamushicha, genmaicha, and gyokuro are all in the same family, but since hojicha has a strong roasted aroma, we recommend using a different tea utensil.

However, glazed pottery or porcelain tea utensils do not absorb the flavor of the tea leaves, so they are suitable for brewing various types of tea.

How do you wash a teapot?

Please wash the teapot with water, without using detergent. Ceramic teapots easily absorb detergent ingredients, which can affect the flavor of the tea.

Tea leaves remaining in the teapot are the main cause of tea stains. After brewing tea, we recommend removing the tea leaves once they have cooled and rinsing them with water.

Moisture remaining in the teapot can cause mold. Turning the teapot upside down will help it dry faster.

We do not recommend washing it in the dishwasher. Please wash by hand.

Can I remove tea stains from a teapot?

Here's how to remove tea stains.

1. In a bowl or pot, mix 24g of baking soda with 1 liter of water at 30-40°C.

*Do not use aluminum or Teflon-coated pots as they will react with baking soda.

2. Leave the teapot in the water mentioned in step 1 for 30-60 minutes.

3. Wipe off the tea stains with a soft sponge or cotton swab. Do not use hard sponges or brushes.

4. Rinse the teapot with water.

5. Thoroughly dry the teapot.

*Baking soda water may irritate your hands, so wear rubber gloves.
