This is a Japanese tea gift set of green tea and black tea. This set allows you to compare two types of green tea and enjoy black tea. All teas are organic.

In recent years, the Japanese tea industry has become more active in the production of black tea as well as green tea. Our shop prepare a gift box that combines tea from Kai tea farm and Tsushima Oishi tea farm, which are famous tea farmers who produce tea with a rich aroma.

These green teas are made by pan-roasting, like Chinese Longjing tea. Most Japanese green tea is made by steaming the tea leaves, Tea made by pan-roasting is called Kamairi tea in Japan.

Chinese Longjing tea has a good aroma, while Japanese pan-roasted tea has a good Umami flavor. If you compare Longjing tea and pan-roasted tea, you can clearly see the characteristics of each. Pan-roasted green tea has less astringency and bitterness than typical Japanese green tea.

Takachiho pan-roasted green tea has the taste of traditional pan-roasted tea. It has a good Umami flavor and a refreshing green tea aroma. On the other hand, Tsushima's Sago tea is more unique. Along with the delicious flavor of the tea, you can also taste the aroma of the sea. Even though they are both pan-roasted teas, they have different characteristics, so it's fun to compare them.

Black tea production has not been very popular in Japan. Sometimes black tea was produced using green tea varieties. However, in recent years, research has become more active, especially among the younger generation of tea farmers, and black tea with a good aroma is being produced.

Until now, Japanese tea meant green tea. However, today Japan has delicious black teas. Please try it and see how it differs from black tea from China and India.

(Takachiho pan-roasted green tea)

Takachiho pan-roasted green tea is a tea that allows you to experience the Umami flavor of green tea. It has little bitterness or astringency, and is characterized by a refreshing aroma and tea flavor. The flavor is very well balanced, and is the classic flavor of kamairicha.

(Sago tea)

Pan-roasted green tea is characterized by the Umami flavor of green tea and a clear golden color. Sagocha is a tea with the aroma of pan-roasting and the scent of the sea.

Tsushima is surrounded by the sea, and because the minerals carried by the sea breeze are deposited in the soil, you can feel the minerals of the sea. The more tea leaves you use, the stronger the sea scent will be. This is a very impressive and rare tea that gives you a taste of the island of Tsushima.

(Hand-picked Tsushima black tea)

Black tea with a floral scent like roses and orchids. The gorgeous aroma lingers for a long time. This luxurious tea is hand-picked from the core of the tea leaves, focusing only on the most delicious parts.

The tea leaves are not cut into small pieces, and are carefully processed as leaves. If the leaves are left in their original state, they are less likely to have astringent or bitter taste, and the rich aroma of the black tea can be fully extracted.

FAQ

Which type of of tea can I brew with the teapot?

It can be used for any type of tea. However, unglazed pottery is more likely to absorb the flavor of the tea leaves. By using different tea utensils for each type of tea, you can enjoy the flavor of the tea to the fullest.

For example, in the case of Japanese tea, sencha, fukamushicha, genmaicha, and gyokuro are all in the same family, but since hojicha has a strong roasted aroma, we recommend using a different tea utensil.

However, glazed pottery or porcelain tea utensils do not absorb the flavor of the tea leaves, so they are suitable for brewing various types of tea.

How do you wash a teapot?

Please wash the teapot with water, without using detergent. Ceramic teapots easily absorb detergent ingredients, which can affect the flavor of the tea.

Tea leaves remaining in the teapot are the main cause of tea stains. After brewing tea, we recommend removing the tea leaves once they have cooled and rinsing them with water.

Moisture remaining in the teapot can cause mold. Turning the teapot upside down will help it dry faster.

We do not recommend washing it in the dishwasher. Please wash by hand.

Can I remove tea stains from a teapot?

Here's how to remove tea stains.

1. In a bowl or pot, mix 24g of baking soda with 1 liter of water at 30-40°C.

*Do not use aluminum or Teflon-coated pots as they will react with baking soda.

2. Leave the teapot in the water mentioned in step 1 for 30-60 minutes.

3. Wipe off the tea stains with a soft sponge or cotton swab. Do not use hard sponges or brushes.

4. Rinse the teapot with water.

5. Thoroughly dry the teapot.

*Baking soda water may irritate your hands, so wear rubber gloves.
